Advanced Clean wins at Which? Awards


Carpet and upholstery cleaning business Advanced Clean is the winner of the annual Which? Local Business of the Year award.

Which Local Business of the Year 2012 winner: Advamced Clean (Whetstone, London)

Advanced Clean was one of 11 regional winners shortlisted for the overall award.

Director John Kilkenny learned he had won when he was invited onto the stage to collect his award from Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith and broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky at a ceremony in London on 20 June 2012.

'Overwhelmed'

‘Winning the regional prize for London was a reward in itself, but I'm bowled over to have won the overall award,’ said John.

‘Four weeks ago, I was busy cleaning carpets when I found out that I had been shortlisted and today I've shared the same stage as lots of big businesses. I'm overwhelmed, but I enjoyed every minute of it.’

A worthy winner

Advanced Clean has been praised by its customers for its highly professional and efficient service, excellent workmanship and for being great value for money.

In a review at Which? Local, one member wrote: 'Great bloke; great work; very reasonable price. If I could bottle whatever it is that makes John tick, I could make a fortune selling it!'

Customer service is key

Which? Chief Executive Peter Vicary-Smith congratulated the shortlisted businesses on remaining focused on their customers' needs despite the challenging economic outlook.

He said: 'As consumers feel the pinch, they are becoming more discerning. They are looking for the best deal, on the best product or service they can afford, provided by the best business.

'When we asked consumers what single behaviour they most associate with a good business, excellent customer service came first.'
