By default we had our anniversary meal here. Firstly let me say that the Harbour Inn in Bowmore took our reservation for our anniversary meal but closed the hotel and restaurant without informing us by telephone or email (they accepted our reservation this way) BUT they did not have any decency to inform us so we were left to our own devises as they offered a restricted meal in a cafe would you believe. Anyway we turned up at the trader and what a meal. A fabulous seafood platter of 6 langoustines, 5 scallops and 3 massive haddock fillets with side salad and chips. What a fabulous dish as were our starters. Although large quality was not compromised in fact it was delicious and the service good. Reasonable wine list at very good prices and overall much better than what was on offer in the cafe replacement at the other establishment. This place is a must to visit, and it is a pity that we had not discovered the renovated Lochside before.

The second smallest distillery on Islay but not small on impression. Totally morgen side throughout including a super little cafe and restaurant that is probably the best at any distillery not only on Islay but Scotland as a whole. Super value distillery tour and the whisky drams are not as well peaked as some as they are still generally smooth for a pleated whisky. There food is excellent especially the seafood chowder but if the haggis, needs and fatties are on the menu go for it as it is really delicious especially with a dram of Ardbeg Dark Cove whisky in the lovely pink pepper sauce. Great value for money.

Really friendly pub with good choice of beers on draft (currently Joker IPA, St Mungo's Lager, etc) and bottles. A good range of distinctive and quality bar food. Steamed buns a speciality. Food good value. Beers not the cheapest by are standards, but fairly proved for what they are - craft beers. current example Joker IPA 5.5% £4.00 per pint. It's a fairly young hip clientele, yet still friendly and welcoming. No website, but Facebook 'Redmond's' First leisure business in the city to be a living wage employer.

We just arrived on speck but just missed the distillery tour and tasting. But as an ardent follower of Ardbeg whisky I bought my usual preferences and enjoyed the range of commodities in the well appointed shop. The place is undergoing an extensive renovation for visitors, especially the car parkland the old kiln house has been converted into the bar, shop and a magnificent restaurant. The food was excellent especially the haddock and salmon chowder, the creamiest I have ever had. I recommend the shop and restaurant and their whisky but I will have to wait until I return to review the distillery.

Just situated close to the ferry terminal, this establishment has had a makeover and it is really well done. Could not get booked in as it was full but managed to get a gorgeous meal of local langoustines (about 14 for £10) with chips and a lovely rocket salad all at lunchtime in the bar. Sorry we could not get to stay but it is definitely on our list for our next trip.

The best traditional pub for miles, situated on the shoes of Lock Long in Arrochar. A pub with a roaring fire and traditional ales.Room neat and tidy and the restaurant is always full even with guests from other bigger hotels. Nothing was a problem, even on a stormy night they called out the local aerial man to fix the antenna so that we could watch the local news. Very reasonably priced.

Good traditional pub with an island bar. Good choice of beers particularly real ales served by friendly & knowledgeable staff. Pub grub is basic but very good in terms of portion size & value.

A great little bar and venue situated right in the city centre of Glasgow, but still 'off the beaten track' as it's in a side-street. trader has a fresh and healthy vegan menu, a good selection of beers, and a medium sized venue downstairs that hosts indie bands and club nights seven nights a week. I would give trader five stars if the beer was slightly cheaper!

I go to this pub regularly and what makes it is the friendly atmosphere created by Tommy the proprietor. It's a mixed, friendly place, and if you're looking for a pub in Dennistoun a safe bet. Nothing very fancy, but few decent beers on draught, and bottles of Furstenberg and Perroni. Keenly priced too.
