trader is how an English Country pub should be; traditional, friendly, colloquial, great beer, good food. Pretty, a big garden, lovely and old. Great pub for a 6 o'clock pint, a mid-week bite, parking up on a Sunday morning, walking through Chilterns down to Great Missenden and back for a Sunday roast, but make sure you book!

Three sisters and husbands, wanting to meet up for a pre-Christmas lunch. Wanted nice ambience, without hustle - wanted to share photos and chat about lives for the last three months and general catching up about families and our lives! We had a wide choice of food on the menu, which was hot and tasty. Drinks were topped up on request - without pestering. If you want to spend quality time without too much expense we would all recommend this central Hertfordshire venue. (parking for 19 cars helped)

Smashing really tasty food and lovely people who always make us very welcome. The country lane location and large garden is ideal.

Great traditional Sunday roast and other pub foods, and a good selection of free house beers to enjoy while dining or any time.

Coped admirably with 22 people for a delayed Christmas event despite heavy snow and reduced staff. Excellent meal. Regularly use this pub for meals for ourselves and friends.

We eat here regularly - best to get in early for lunch, as it is very popular and soon gets busy. Wide variety of interesting well-cooked food. Tables a little cramped and rickety. Decent wines and beers.

A nice pub restaurant at the confluence of the canal, river and two lakes. Above average food selection for this kind of eatery and a great location. Small selection of real ales on tap including guest ales.

trader is a great pub with a lovely beer garden. The clientele is varied and it is usually a friendly environment During the summer it can get quite busy which is exacerbated by the small bar but you shouldn't be waiting too long to get served.

Jovial, local pub. Great atmosphere when the football's on and there's sometimes a bit of live music too. Can be a bit tight in there sometimes but it's not usually an issue. They also do the best pint of Guinness in Ruislip by a country mile!
