This is one of the finest tourist attractions in the country. The country park is a pleasure to walk around. As if the natural beauty of the local landscape wasn't enough, the many features and sculptures scattered around makes it outstanding. The galleries are on such a grand scale and the exhibitions are breath-taking. I visit regularly and don't tire of it- the food is also superb.

Fabulous display of "Birds of Prey" where they allow children to stroke and handle smaller birds and give an excellent talk on all aspects of the birds and their individual characteristics. A worthwhile visit for kids and the 1hr show is good for them - highly recommended. However the toilets have a lack of hand dryers and In my opinion the cafe is tacky, The children's play area is sadly neglected and in need of injection of money in these two basic facilities. Don't let that put you off as the flying part of the experience is good

At halfterm I went here with my nephew, it's wonderful and the fabulous views and geography of Sheffield made it an even more memorable day! He was doing snowboarding sessions and the staff were wonderful with the children, building up my nephew's confidence. He has has now signed up for a Sunday class. He has been recommending it to his friends. And I would certainly make the trip to go there again and work at getting the knack of it. Highly recommended.

Further to my recommendation for Poets Cottage Garden Centre at Lealholme, I must also recommend the Garden Centre at trader . They offer a great range of high quality goods and the friendly service is excellent. The Garden Centre is adjacent to the Courtyard containing numerous craft and gift shops and cafes. Entry to these areas is free so bring a picnic and spend some time around the garden centre, shops and grounds. It must be emphasised that you have to pay to enter trader House.

I would advise to be careful with the prepackaged meat, we bought some dry cured bacon and in the middle was all the fatty off cuts!

Fantastic herb shop (to grown and ready to eat) with supereb deli and mini garden centre and exquisite cafe. Superb picture window on to the River Derwent and the most massive bird table you have seen in your life. Eat your dinner with birds eating 2 feet away in their dozens. Highly recommended.

A great free day out for all the family, of all ages, over Easter. Free Easter egg trail, with questions and easter egg prizes at the end. Lots of places to stop and eat our picnic, excellent value and not too crowded.

More than just a typical farm shop. It has a great butchers, fruit and veg plus various cooking ingredients, preserves, cakes, biscuits, drinks etc. and even some kitchen utensils. Definitely worth visiting if you like locally sourced foods and artisan products. If you've got kids with you the farm there is worth visiting too. Only downside is that the shop can be a bit busy at times!

We went to Heaton Park for a picnic with friends. It was a nice day and everyone had a lovely time. There are a lot of fields and open space and there are several play areas for children. There are lots of pathways which are perfect for walks and you can buy food there too. However, cars are not allowed in the park (but there are two car parks at the side) and there were a lot of people. I would recommend Heaton Park to families who are looking for a cheap, fun day out (it is free), but I am sure that everyone would enjoy it as much as we did!
