Brian decorated my living room 6 years ago having been recommended by a friend. He papered the walls and ceiling and painted all the woodwork and radiator and I was delighted with the result. The room is still looking in excellent condition so I know his work is excellent quality. He recently stripped and re-papered my dining room and painted all the woodwork and radiator, again to a high standard. Brian is now booked for July to paint all the woodwork in my hall, stairs and landing. He is a very courteous man, a clean and tidy worker and just gets on with the job in hand. I have no hesitation in recommending the quality of his work.

Brian achieved an excellent result on the hall, landings and stairs of our three-storey Edwardian house in Forest Fields. We are very pleased with his work. All ceilings and walls were first paper-lined and then painted with two coats of emulsion, and all woodwork (including eleven doors and their frames, and all skirting and edgings) received two coats of undercoat and two of a top coat as most of it was in very poor condition having not been painted for over twenty years (and perhaps many more than that)! Nearly all the walls and ceilings had been covered with Artex or some other textured surface coating which could not be easily removed and had to be sanded down by machine and by hand. Brian also had to do some patch plastering, filling and general smoothing over to produce the finish we wanted. Although this was a laborious and at times necessarily messy job, Brian was meticulous about cleaning up and leaving the area neat and tidy at the end of each day (or even more often if he thought it necessary). Brian will be doing some more work for us in 2013.

Needed outside of house painting...front door/frame, garage door/frame, sidegate and masonry and wood slats under roof apexes. Had painted neighbour's house and looked professional finish. Agreed work from 24th Sept, but due to rain, had to complete over the whole week. Time keeping was perfect, 8am each day, work preparation and finish thorough, very personable and quote competitive. Will use again without hesitation.

Harry has done a few of jobs for us now, painting and and decorating the inside of most of our house and rescuing our wooden window sills, garage doors and front door (was in a very bad state) - he filled and painted them and they look fantastic. Harry does general property maintenance so is a handy person to know of - he does smaller jobs and bigger ones e.g. kitchen fitting, althought I have only had painting and repairs done so far. He is efficient, reliable and his rates are very reasonable.

A sole trader who is clearly properly trained and experienced. Pete has done a really professional job on all my window frames and external doors as well as all my internal doors, door frames and bannister. He is friendly, reliable and trustworthy and gave me a really good price. I will be asking him back to redecorate my front room.

It's always a pleasure to have a tradesman work in your home who so clearly enjoys the work that he does and cares about the outcome. Ian fits into this category. We've had coving done in a 3rd bedroom and study, and painting in them as well as the sitting room, kitchen, front porch and conservatory. Ian also wall-papered the hall, stairs and landing. The quality of his work is of the very highest standard.

The Themes and Schemes company was recommended to us by some friends who had previously used them. They decorated our whole house, and we were very pleased with the quality of their work. They made the whole process much easier for us by moving and replacing all the furniture, fittings, blinds themselves. In addition, they were nice people to have in the house!

Having looked at the recommendations on Which? Local, we contacted Brian to decorate the exterior of our house. We weren't disappointed - in fact we were delighted with the standard of his work, his willingness to discuss all aspects of the project with us and his ability to fix things that I'd not thought a painter and decorator would do - such as replace cracked window panes or deal with rot in wooden frames. He left the place tidy and respected our property. Couldn't recommend him highly enough - and we'll be getting him back for the inside of the house.

Mark has done several jobs (painting & wall papering) for us with excellent results. His preparation is meticulous and he does not complain if he has to move a bit of furniture or remove door handles etc. There are cheaper decorators but they do not produce Mark's quality results. He is honest - we have no qualms about leaving him in the house whilst going out shopping. He gives a written job price and will suggest cost saving options. He has never asked for 'extras' and once reduced his price because the job was easier than expected.
