I moved to South Harrow two years ago, and Bill has been servicing my motorbike since we moved to the area. I now take my bike there if I'm unsure about any issues, and he's always happy to take time out to have a look. He gives great advice about what should or shouldn't be done to keep the bike performing well, and more importantly his prices always seem like really good value. I'd checked out a few bike shops in the area, and for price they came out best. Its an added bonus that they are also really friendly guys.

2012 and got ripped off at another garage for annual service and MOT. So found this local. About the same price but included new chain and sprockets, new front (4) break pads. They showed me the air, oil filters and plugs they had taken out.The other garage had done none of it last year. Bike runs so smooth now ! Some quirky things but all good customer service. Will be using next year.

My 4th Annual Recommendation for this Specialist Motorcycle Mechanic (He doesn’t sell bikes. He just Services and Repairs them). His Mechanical Repair Workshop is located 5 minutes drive from Crystal Palace. This year, the clutch on my Diversion needed replacing. I made an appointment and Dave ordered the Clutch Repair Kit. My bike was in the workshop for less than an hour. The total bill was £96 parts (Clutch repair kit, gasket, oil change and new filter) + £30.00 labour = £126.00. No VAT is charged because he isn’t VAT Registered (quite legally). The best things about this Motorcycle Mechanic are: He is a one-stop-shop for nearly all servicing, repairs, supplying, fitting or fixing accessories (supplies and fits new ScottOilers and supplies and fits new or second hand Top Boxes – also repairs / re-furbishes these). He does tyre repairs while you wait. He can also order and fit new tyres. He carries an impressive range of spares in stock (including bulbs, spark plugs, air filters, oil filters, oils including ScottOil, chains, cables etc). Anything he doesn’t have in stock he can usually get delivered next day. You can book an appointment (often same or next day) or for minor issues just turn up and he will usually fit you in. You never have to leave your bike there as he will work on it while you wait and watch. For major / long jobs / or if you don’t have time to wait, he will provide a free loan bike. Some customers book their bike in for a service / repairs, exchange their bike for a loan one on the way into work and collect their bike in the evening / next day. Dave Wilkins values his Customers and provides a much better and cheaper service than can be found from Motorcycle Dealerships. Also, because he doesn’t charge VAT, the bigger the job, the more I save.

I have used Bill Bunn's on a number of occasions. They always do professional work on tight timescales. They do the servicing on both my bikes and managed to figure out a bizzare coolant problem on my new bike caused by the previous owner being an enthusiatic but rubbish amatuer mechanic.

When my Ryobi two stroke strimmer persistently refused to start I started looking for someone to repair it and referred to Which Local to find a dealer. Unfortunately, the one closest to me at the time advised that, despite being nearly new, it would not be worth the costs of repair. Subsequently, I found Jason who owns and runs trader from a well equipped workshop at his home address and he agreed to investigate the problem. Along with all engine driven garden equipment, he services and repairs all makes and models of motorbikes, road and off road. He had the strimmer for less than a day when he rang to say that it was fixed and ready for collection. It had required precision readjustment to both the hot and cold starting settings and it is now working perfectly. His charges were extremely reasonable making it an incredibly cost effective and quick repair. In addition he gave me some useful advise about how to handle two stroke engines and demonstrated his wide experience of engines and motorcycles in general. He was working on a range of motorcycles and garden equipment when I collected the strimmer and he seemed to have a number of very happy customers, including myself. I have no hesitation in highly recommending him to other Which members.

I have used them for about eight years now and have now complaints about their service. The chap who owns it is always friendly and I always feel I am getting good value. My last service and MOT for my 2006 Z750 came to £136 including VAT. He is not the cheapest for tyres and puncture repairs (£30 inc VAT for a repair) but then he is not a tyre specialist. Occasionally I have had my bike back washed and cleaned but most of the time it is returned in the state I left it in, given what he charges this does not bother me in the slightest. I will continue to use him and have no hesitation in recomending him to others.

3rd Review. To confirm and update my reviews below. I am always happy to recommend Dave Wilkins Motorcycle Workshop to fellow motorcyclists as he has consistently provided excellent service at reasonable prices for repairing and servicing my and friends motorcycles. He works on all ages, sizes and makes of bike. I have typically seen him working on anything from a Honda 90, to sports bikes, to one of a small fleet of Pan European Taxi Bikes that he services. As well as charging reasonable prices and no VAT, Dave not only relies on his 30+ years experience as a motorcycle mechanic but has service manuals and will look up the relevent details when working on a bike (if he doesn't have the part, pressure or tolerence figure in his head), rather than guessing, so you can be sure your bike is in safe hands. I am not easily pleased as a customer and am very relieved to have found a trustworthy motorcycle mechanic, following some bad experiences and unexpected large bills in the distant past from motorcycle dealers workshops.

After numerous bad experiences elsewhere - I now won't use anyone else, and travel 40 miles in order to get my bike serviced here.

Always courteous and helpful. Excellent at pinpointing problems, (often better than the manufacturers' official dealer garages). Nothing is too much trouble. Honest and reliable.

Myself and my wife have bought 6 motorcycles from Martyn and his team. They are a really friendly bunch of people and I trust them completely to give an honest price on sales and trade In.
