I usually go here before the likes of homebase and B&Q. Good service - helpful staff. Good stock but also willing to order as required. Sometimes cheaper - sometimes dearer, good enough value to visit regularly

I reviewed them 2 years ago, and still find it an excellent shop, friendly, helpful and willing to order stuff for you. Prices sometimes much cheaper than the superstores, sometimes more costly - unpredictable, depending on the item. Home delivery for a few £, unlike one of the big superstores that wanted to charge me £20 for home delivery!

The ladies are very helpful and know where everything is and what its used for and can recommend other products, There is a good range of DIY products and tools. All kitchen ware is quality and modern good small china and cooking / dinning products are first class. Fire place fittings great range of screws , nails and genral fixings, Also garden supplies and cement to weed killer, A good range of cleaning and polishing products. small range of paints fillers and varnish. And electrical, You can always find something you need its a great little well not so little, local business. I have used the shop well over 10 years and at present doing up a flat in the main street so every time I hit a job think of a solution I just nip round to trader and I have found everything I need.

I have used this business over a number of years & provide me with gardening supplies and tools. Also for paint brushes etc for the house. Service has always been first class and they go to great trouble to provide what I needed.

We have used this ironmongers frequently since we moved into the area four years ago, and I think they have only twice failed to stock an item we needed. They seem to have all the odds and ends that the big B&Q type chains do not stock. They are knowledgeable and helpful.
