A local family small supermarket chain mainly in the North West. The best independent supermarket there is. They only buy locally produced quality food from known farmers and all at very reasonable prices. Also the only independent supermarket to pay the farmers the correct price for their milk. So support our local farmers, reduce food miles and get quality at reasonable prices. Nowhere betters this supermarket even though there are the cheaper supermarkets within 100 yards and another within 1/2 mile. They don't buy local nor do they pay the producers a fair price! We use them weekly and what a difference that makes to have friendly local staff who care about customers and what they want.

I buy fish from them around 30 times a year. Their fish is the best I have experienced. Always willing to give advice. They skin bone and vacuum pack the fish on request.

One of the smaller branches of Booths superb supermarkets, which are a brilliant local supermarket. They are great to shop in, stock local produce, have staff that are still human, serve up great looking and tasting produce. If you're hungry I recommend the hot food from the outlet near the tills on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast selection especially the small cumberland sausages. Or if you are feeling more hungry try their amazing and amazingly large roast sandwiches at lunchtime. They're enough to feed an army and very, very good.

I agree with everything that has been said. Stanleys continues to offer friendly service with good value fruit and veg - nothing too much trouble. We shop there regularly and they provide 200 Christingle oranges for us every Christmas. Excellent in every way.

I've been using this greengrocers for fruit, veg and flowers for over 10 years. They are friendly and knowledgeable - will gladly offer hints for when fruit is at its best or different ways to cook vegetables (e.g.microwave or barbecue sweet chestnuts!). A traditional greengrocers that has better quality (and better tasting) produce than supermarkets usually at lower prices too - don't know how they do it!
