Garden centres near Kidlington, Oxfordshire

A nice day out, especially for a Sunday. We like to combine it with a visit to the nearby Jungle Mania softplay centre. As well as a great range of plants and gardening equipment, the garden centre has a good pet shop with bunnies and a big area of aquariums that the kids love to visit. There's also a 'Lush' type handmade tolieteries area, cut flowers and crafts. The cafe is popular, especially on a Sunday. The roast is good value because you can fill your plate with veg but it's a bit on the bland-side.

I ordered a hinged wooden compost bin (flat packed) from this website (you can also order by phone). It was delivered promptly but one of the pieces was broken. I emailed to explain, and the replacement part was despatched immediately. The company also apologised for the inconvenience. I thought it was incredibly efficient service (and a nice compost bin!).

Long standing (established 1958) independent family-run business. Well-stocked, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They have been my main source of plants and gardening perquisites for over 30 years.

I found that the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The quality of the plants are high if not a little on the pricey side. We used a voucher at the cash desk which caused a problem, the girl was new and had difficulty in using the till in relation to this. The assistant staff came promptly when called.

We've used them four times now for supplying everthing we've needed to landscape our garden. Excellent, knowledgable, joined-up service with advice if you need it (and we do!). Delivery prompt and helpful. Prices often better the usual suspects.

We visited in the depths of winter to see the large snowdrop collection. It was a rather bleak, wet day but there was a surprising number of fellow galanthophiles around. In the summer, the herbaceous borders are supposed to be superb so we must go then as well. We were impressed by the garden centre which had a good range of plants and some very classy garden sundries. There was also a very good cafe with a great range of cakes - the must have of any garden visit!

Wide range of home and garden maintenance products both new and classic are stocked. The shop's keepers are knowledgeable and happy to offer unbiased advice on suitability of a product to your task. Prices can be slightly higher than in chains, but they will have what's effective for your job.

There is a good range of many various plants for garden and conservatory use, including several larger plants already planted in large decorative pots, They also stock lots of garden accessories, with good quantities of most items, The staff are very polite and helpfull and seem to take pride in helping, Also they all have a very good and sound knowledge of sucessfull gardening, along with advise and tips to offer, but if they can't answer a question for you, they will take you to someone who can.
