The staff are friendly and helpful plus they offer the best price I could find in the area for a 14l gas bottle refill for my BBQ.

I arrived with a long list of perennials that I wanted but did not expect to source more than a few of them at one nursery. How wrong could I have been? trader carries a huge range of healthy plants that you would be unlikely to find except at some of the bigger garden centres (e.g the one close to here just north of Barton), the difference being that the prices at the nursery are much lower. I left with a very full boot and a much shorter 'wanted' list - I was promised that some androsace would arrive in spring. The service provided by the staff was superb. At first, I couldn't find a number of plants and was told that some of the stock was still in the glasshouses (which was not surprising in the second week of March). I was taken into the glasshouses and shown where to find the missing plants by John, who proved to be not only very friendly and helpful, but extremely knowledgeable as well. Before paying, I spoke to Phil, another of the staff members. Again, I was impressed by his friendliness and depth of knowledge and, during our conversation, I learned that he was the manager (owner?). The nursery is not on my doorstep - it is a 20 mile drive - but I will certainly be paying further visits.

Used their ground reinforcing honeycomb plastic (Hebden 402) to build a drive. Price about £10 per sq metre. Half the price of comparable products. Was able to do much of the work myself. VERY economical way of replacing a worn out drive

Gold medal winners at the Tatton RHS Flower Show yet again this year. This small garden centre run by Bob and Cath specialise in herbaceous perennials and the unusual plants. they are passionate about their wide range of quality plants. A garden centre for lovers of plants. If you want tea rooms, and the usual crafty nic-nacks and trash of the other garden centre places then don't come here. This centre is for real gardeners. They also run various other activities around their centre with specialist talks and demonstrations. See their web site. A must for the best of plants - award winners at reasonable prices.

A long established family business who began as growers, a large proportion of their plants are still home grown, but the business has expanded its range. I have used this nursery for many years and find it is far and away the best value in the area, particularly for bedding plants, perennials and roses. I would describe it as a no-frills nursery and not a typical modern garden centre.

The proprietors and staff are most helpful e.g. in terms of their knowledge and advice they are prepared to share on request; have a good range of quality goods at a reasonable price; will deliver locally for a small fee; are firendly and treat us as valued customers.
