We are absolutely delighted with the works undertaken by the Lancaster's team. They transformed our garden into a paradise with new patios, fencing and lawn. The team of men were truly outstanding; their commitment, attitude and manners impeccable. The quality of their work was outstanding and the end result is stunning. No one can believe the transformation. We found this to be a very friendly and caring family business. Our friends are asking for their name after seeing their amazing work

My wife and I have shopped at Shannon's for 15 years. Family run with very helpful and friendly staff. They know their stuff unlike B&Q, Homebase etc. Fantastic Christmas trees. Not the cheapest - but the best!

I gave this Nursey a 5-star review back in 2009. Tthere have been many changes since then, not all of which I welcome. They seem to have moved a bit down-market as they have expanded their business into a whole range of non-garden items. They introduced background music (they call it Woodcote Radio) a couple of years ago despite complaints from some customers. It is not something I personally like and there is no escape from it. Whether standing outdoors choosing a plant or walking through the landscaping section, fairly naff music is piped direct to your ears via cheap, tinny sounding speakers. I have a couple of times in more recent times spotted plants in pots that seem to have dried out- something that would never have happened back in 2009. And they seem to be more expensive than they used to be, although the quality of the plants remains first class. The cafe/restaurant service has expanded greatly, with two venues now and more choice. The quality is good, although the greatly enlarged main one in its new location does remind me more of a staff canteen than a restaurant. We continue to use the venue because the quality, range and choice of goods remains good, but I find that going there is not the pleasant experience it once was.

I regularly use trader to pick up bits and pieces for various DIY projects, from advising on the right length decking screws to ordering the correct bulb for under-cupboard kitchen lighting, they are always very helpful with advice and recommendations. One of those shops where you can just go in and ask for what you want and they'll sort you out.

We originally found this company using Which local and I have to say they have been brilliant on our garden project which included laying a new lawn, creating new beds and sinking a trampoline into the ground. Mikey and the team have done a wonderful job and worked hard. Having no side access meant all the materials had to come through the house but they prepared the area well so there was little disruption and mess and cleaned up throughly after each visit. The team were extremely patient when we were unsure of certain things and gave good advice on the design and made some excellent recommendations which resulted in us having a fabulous fun garden. Without hesitation I would recommend Lancaster Home and Garden.

Huge garden centre, bought loads of stuff there over the years, they do a lot more than gardens, the food shop is good, they sell furniture and clothes, have occaisional farmers markets in the car park and I attended a vintage car show there as well. They even have live Reindeer there at xmas.

We used this family business established 1945 to put up a wooden fence for us. They did an excellent job. We believe we were charged a fair price.

Incapacitated and unable to do my own garden I called GP Garden Services. Mark in the office was polite and efficient. Gary came round to do a quote which was cheaper than two others and Brian and Gary arrived on time, well equipped on the hottest day of the year and got the job done! I was asked specifically what I wanted doing with each tree/shrub etc. Worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. Very pleased.

This is a wonderful, quirky and atmospheric garden centre full of unusual plants, pots and planters and other garden paraphernalia; there are even chickens in a coop, (I was given 3 fresh eggs, laid that morning when I visited!). The owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to give any advice needed. Some bags of garden compost I bought where delivered locally within an hour of purchase. Highly recommended, this is a magical place to visit, especially if you are a keen gardener. Do go and see!
