This is a wonderful, quirky and atmospheric garden centre full of unusual plants, pots and planters and other garden paraphernalia; there are even chickens in a coop, (I was given 3 fresh eggs, laid that morning when I visited!). The owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to give any advice needed. Some bags of garden compost I bought where delivered locally within an hour of purchase. Highly recommended, this is a magical place to visit, especially if you are a keen gardener. Do go and see!

This firm provided outstanding service from start to finish. Jay Lancaster was enthusiastic and knowledgeable when he came to provide a free estimate. He was not fazed or disapproving about our neglected and overgrown garden - which helped us to talk through the services his team could provide. The team lived up to and exceeded all Jay's promises. They kept hard at work clearing, levellling and rotavating through some very unpleasant weather and kept to deadlines so that our other contractors (treework and garden office installation) could come in as arranged. They have done a wonderful job creating a brand new garden from our urban jungle - including putting in a new fence, new tool shed, new borders and a wonderful newly turfed lawn with stepping stones to the garden office. They worked through rain and waterlogged terrain (likened to the Somme) without grumbling. Very professional approach - limited use of mobiles on site, no extended lunch breaks and no trudging in and out of the house to use the loo! A considerate, friendly team lead by a knowledgeable team leader and manager who were always flexible and responsive to our wishes. Would recommend them to anyone looking for gardening services as described on their website. Excellent value for money too, and not as costly as some of the other quotes we had.

A pleasant garden centre in a great location. Though there’s less in the way of furniture, pots, tools and so on, there are plenty of plants. I usually visit for herbs and trays of baby vegetables and find there’s always a good range of healthy plants that are reasonably priced. There’s also a nice selection of houseplants, although they are a bit more expensive than the same varieties would be in supermarkets. The staff, albeit perhaps a little few and far between, are very helpful and obligingly pack my plants ready for a bus ride home! Worth a look.

I have been wary of the prices on their bird food. Normal price for meal worm is £19.99 and get one free. Twice the'get one free' has been removed and been priced at £19.99 each! I would advise that you check out before you buy.

Great, friendly service at this family-run garden centre. Delighted to find it near me. Staff always happy to help, there's a very big range of stuff indeed for somewhere in London's zone 3.

I highly recommend this garden centre. They provide a patient, friendly and polite service - ready to answer even the most basic questions from a gardening amateur. They have a good range of quality plants and other supplies.

Was recommended to use Lancaster's by neighbour. The service from start to finish was fantastic. My requirement was for the garden to be cleared of all trees, shrubs, bricks, etc, new fencing installed and the newly flattened area to be turfed. The guys that came in to 'rebuild' my garden were polite, professional, and most importantly very tidy. The work was completed within the specified time (7 days) and I cannot fault the entire process from start to finish.

Cleared plants and old fencing and put up new exactly when they said they would, taking the same amount of time, and cleaned up after themselves.

Great garden centre. Really well organised and helpful/friendly. Have got loads of gifts, kitchen stuff and more as well as the expected 'garden' items. Bought my Xmas tree there again today. Would thoroughly recommend. You will pay a bit, but then it seems all garden centres end up costing you these days!

This is the best garden centre ever. The staff is great, always ready to give you advice on plants. I even ask them to design the contents of my beds by telling them the exposition and what colour or effect I want. There are all so patient and nice, it is unbelievable. They also sell lots of nice garden furniture and other stuff, like decorations, and kitchen tools etc. Honestly a great place. There is also a lovely café and they deliver the next day. Also I have always found that their plants are of much better quality than the ones I have bought to other garden centres. Lots more variety as well. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, except they are already going there, so...
