My laptop died and I needed to obtain an engineer's report to prove that it was defective. I got in touch with trader who arranged a courier to pick it up, they looked at the laptop the next day and then arranged for a courier to send it back the following day. It was extremely quick, efficient and I was kept informed of progress at every step - really excellent customer service that's hard to find these days!

Already recommended in Local. As soon as Stuart opened up my Compaq laptop (problem of cutting-out), he said, Aha............ the way it's mounted eventually causes mountings to melt, losing the secure connection; left on all the time it would have a settled existence, but the inevitable sporadic off and on causes it to constantly lose it. Could have an attempt at a repair, but in his view wouldn't last..... he quoted several he'd seen where customers had insisted on a repair - one had failed on the counter as he was giving it a final rest before handback. So he offered a deal of new laptop, throwing in free transfer of all data, AVG on, Libre Office, together with a sense that he knew what he was talking about, and I could have walked off with advice and gone somewhere else I imagine if I'd gone to PC World, marked down in recent Which, or even Carphone Warehouse, best of a mediocre bunch, I'd have been charged three figures for a 'repair' which would have lasted a matter of weeks. Independent, as usual, best!

Chris Bennett has looked after our computing needs for over nine years. He deals with our software and hardware problems promptly, at a reasonable cost, and and entirely to our satisfaction. If the problem can't be solved immediately on a home visit, equipment is taken away for diagnosis and, all being well, repair. Meantime Chris keeps us up-to-date with progress.

Following the first reviewers glowing recommendation I contacted trader because I wanted to be sure that a virus on my PC had not transferred to 2 Memory Sticks. From the first telephone call to collecting my Sticks the service and attention was impeccable and I have no hesitation in recommending this company to other users.

1) I Had a computer fault, very irregular. He was diligent and very thorough in his searches, and the problem has not recurred. 2) To remove data from my personal video recorder hard disc. He researched this, downloading a special programme succeeded in transferring this to a mobile hard drive. In both cases his charges were very reasonable. He is experienced, mature and its his own business
