Martin fitted a replacement boiler for me.He did a fantastic job, working efficiently and quickly,even carrying remedial work to avoid probable future problems with inaccessible pipework.I was impressed with Martins thoroughness to ensure that the work met all safety and building regulations and that the house was left thoroughly cleaned afterwards.Will use him again and recommend.

After reading criminy's review I decided to call Les (TLC Plumbing) to fix my combi boiler which had failed overnight. He arrived within an hour, diagnosed the fault, collected and fitted the part, tidied up and left leaving a very reasonable bill. Good call!

Doug installed a room thermostat which is working well. He is efficient and punctual . Excellent service highly recommended.

I contacted RDS for what turned out to be a really small job (5 minutes of work to rebalance the system). The work was done swiftly and efficiently and the engineer was friendly. BUT what I found afterwards was that he had fixed a sticker with his company's phone number to my boiler whilst I wasn't looking. I didn't ask for that and neither did he ask me whether this is ok. Sorry, but I found that a bit cheeky. Luckily the sticker came off easily. Maybe I'm a bit special but things like this don't help me with trusting a company. He charged me the minimum call out fee, which was still £58 plus Vat. I don't know if this is good or bad, since this was the first heating engineer I used.

After moving house it became apparent that some major work needed to be done on my heating / hot water system. I planned ahead and got a Which recommended plumber who was initially very helpful. However after buying a replacement tank on their recommendation they suddenly said they were no longer interested in the work. A few weeks later everything packed up. After contacting several other Which recommended plumbers, there was little interest and nobody was available for a month. Thankfully I came across Rob. He was able to come to assess the problem very quickly. Rob did a great job of replacing the tanks, pump and programmer and everything was in working order in no time. Great service and very reasonable price. I strongly recommend him.

I have used Doug on several occasions now. Always found him to be very helpful and gets the job done. He provides excellent advice, turns up when he says he will and if he can't fix the problem on the day does his best to fit you back into his very busy schedule.

My old central heating back boiler finally gave up the ghost in early December - needless to say this was really bad timing (is there a good time for this to happen?). I got in touch with Doug after seeing the recommendations on this site. He came around to scope the job that was required and provided me with a competitive quote - he was also able too fit in the work before Christmas and complete the job a day earlier than he estimated. I was highly impressed with his service and the new boiler has performed faultlessly. I can recommend Doug and his company wholeheartedly and am happy to express my thanks in this public way.

Had new boiler installed. Very reasonable price. Work carried out very efficiently and in friendly manner by Mark, who, once floor boards were lifted, had to cope with existing pipe work not being as had been anticipated when they gave the quote. Tidied up well on completion and explained well how everything works.

When, recently our central heating packed-up out of the blue (as it does!), I called Pete Skinner of trader , whom I found on Which local, he responded with a next day appointment and turned up when we agreed he would. He promptly and professionally diagnosed the problems and went on to remedy a solution(which I was delighted with, seeing as the boiler is pushing forty years old!), he checked our system all over thoroughly once the problems had been solved and even connected a spare radiator for me. Highly recommended. Peters thoroughness, professionalism and experience shines through and I can happily say that I would use trader at any time in the future and would not hesitate to recommend Pete to any friends and family and of course the Which Community. In terms of costs, I find Peters' charges to be more than reasonable. Thank you Pete.

Just over a year ago we had our boiler replaced and the heating system revised . We had obtained five quotes and chose Doug Beesley because he came across as professional, straightforward, and honest . This judgement turned out to be correct, and we were impressed with his work and recommend him highly . He has recently serviced the said boiler and naturally all is OK .

Noticing that my 24 year old Potterton boiler was behaving strangely, I arranged for local gas engineers to carry out an overdue service. They quickly diagnosed a leaking gas valve, advised that the part was no longer available, disconnected the boiler and sent me an estimate for a new boiler. A second gas engineer confirmed the diagnosis but recommended waiting to see if he could find a second-hand valve. Two months later, with no valve, he too gave me an estimate for a new boiler. That’s when I contacted trader after reading the reviews on Which? Local. Peter attended as promised two days later, stripped down, cleaned, tested and reinstated the gas valve before completing a thorough service and leaving everything working normally – all for just £25 more than the first company charged me for their visit. It’s refreshing to find someone who is prepared to spend a little time repairing something rather than taking the easy option of costly replacement. Peter was friendly, reliable, and he cleaned up when the work was complete. I have no hesitation recommending him for similar work.
