Do you have a poorly Peugeot? If yes, contact Alan @ Peugeot Repairs. My car's ABS warnng light came on and a 'beeping' sound started at the same time. I looked on the Internet and came accross Peugeot Repairs as some of the garages I had contacted about the fault were not interested, it's a French car!! I contacted Alan and took my car to him. To cut a long story short, he identified the problem ( a sensor was giving an incorrect reading) gave me two options i.e. clean up the sensor or replace it. After a brief discussion I decided the replacement was more sensible and within 40 minutes the job was completed. I found Alan very competant and he gave me confidence that the issue would be resolved and that I would not be over charged. What I was charged for two hours of his time was refreshing, I did not need to consider taking a second mortgage and I will be using him again.

Based on other Which? Local reviews, I booked my car in to have a broken electric window repaired. The service was friendly and professional, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I now have a Honda and I previously had a Peugeot, both of which are makes in which they have specialist experience. I was first recommended to Victory by a taxi-driver, which I thought was impressive. That was several years ago and I have used Victory ever since. They have been unfailingly reliable; have always given me good advice, even when it meant that I might spend less money with them; and are a pleasure to deal with.

I only discovered Whitmans two years ago: it's not easy to find as it's tucked away behind an angling shop near the top of Reservoir Rd N14. But what a gem of a find it was! Whitmans comprises two brothers, Steve and Paul, who have serviced my car for the last two years. They provide a straightforward, thorough service at a fair price (less than half a main dealer's rate). I'm not a mechanic but I do understand cars and I believe they do a thorough service. They will point out any important repairs required but don't do any unnecessary work: I trust their advice. They never do additional work without phoning first. They are very clear about what they're charging for and they provide an incredibly detailed, handwritten invoice that is in effect a condition report on your car, listing points of note such as potential future problems, state of brake and clutch wear, etc. You always deal direct with the mechanics and so you get a first hand report on your car. If you drop in with a minor problem, the chances are they'll look at it there and then. I'm really impressed and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Have used them several times now, for service and MOT and have found them to be reliable and trustworthy. They always try to help out if they can and even offered to come to my house when my battery was flat (although I do only live 4 or 5 roads away from them, but was still nice to offer).

Very good. The windscreen wiper on my old car was getting stuck and I was afraid that it would require a costly motor replacement, which is what they feared too. 30 minutes later they call me to say that it's all fixed - dried grease in the motor was the problem. So they cleaned it out and relubricated it and all it cost me was half hour labour - will definitely use again.

This is a proper, traditional-style local garage staffed by nice, clued-up and helpful blokes. We think it's wonderful.

Liam is a mobile mecanic, so when i had trouble with my car I made a call and liam came to me fixing the car on site and at a very good price. I am very wary of mecanics but Liam was exellent. I would recommend him to anyone. A good, honest mecanic is what all motorists need.
