Stein's is an independent family run garage that prides itself on customer service as well as the quality of the work itself. The garage also has strong links to other independent firms, eg, tyres, body work, valeting, and so can offer a full wraparound service as required. They pride themselves on being competitively priced and regularly have special offers on their web page as well as other offers for their regular customers and Facebook followers. Stein's is particularly good at "not talking down to" female customers (not always the case with other garages). I've recommended them to many people and all have been more than happy with the service they received.

I have used Mr Doig for many years and always have found him and his staff to be fair and reliable. He no longer does MOT's but sub contracts. He is now selling good value tyres. He is trustworthy and honest. Usually he can give a price before any work commences. Once he starts the job and finds the work is going to be more than he expected, he will telephone you for approval.

I have used MIke's garage since 2008. He is friendly, soft spoken and trust worthy. I have an old car, which I like a lot and have been quite tempted to spend some money on. I generally have come back home with a gentle suggestion that its probably not worth the money. For small jobs, there have been a few times when he has not charged me anything. I have now started taking our new car to Mike rather than the dealer. Wish there were more like him in this trade.

Follow Up Review: This is a local Garage which has existed as a family business for many years. The service is friendly and reliable, they are always willing to take time to discuss any problem and the options available. I travelled to work for 30 years using my car and felt that this garage was always there as a support service. Parts and labour rates are competitive and the work is carried out competently.

Although this Garage is labelled Citreon we have used it for several years for various makes of cars. They willingly tackle anything and always most reasonably priced.

The partners,Andrew and David,left a major BMW dealership to take over this business.They were recommended by a friend and this was my 4th different dealing with them.They are a pleasure to deal with,young but knowledgeable and always ready to go the extra mile. What I most like about them is that each is able to explain in simple terms what is wrong and what requires to be done and quoted costs and time scales ,to date, have been invariably met. In other words no bull**** and half the cost of BMW.

I loved the servicing of my SAAB from main dealer as Reilly's are always helpful, e.g. replacing light bulbs and cost effective for servicing. Other advise on cheaper options elsewhere, e.g.. tyres. Efficient and good communication.

Dalziel's Garage - John Goodlad - has relocated (Feb 2011) to new premises at 17 E Cromwell Street (off Coburg Street, Leith just before Sports Warehouse). Business is well run, on a friendly basis, with uptodate test equipment, and they have done servicing & MOT for family's Volvo V70 and Honda Civic for the last 5 years or more
