We are very pleased with the work undertaken by Dale and his work colleague, primarily to create level access to the back of the house and incorporate a patio area. Dale has an easy going "can do" approach which enabled us to make some alterations to the plans as we went along. He came recommended to us as a "trusted contractor" by a well-established local charity which supports and advises older and disabled homeowners in respect of necessary building adaptions and repairs. We are happy to recommend Dale and hope to use him again for a more substantial building project later in the year.

WE needed a reliable firm to replace an aging Velux Roof window and wooden Kitchen door that were both installed when we did a house extension some 24 years ago and the original installers and later maintainers had now retired. I found Fairbridge or rather was reminded of Fairbridge whom I had known some years ago , from this site and was very happy with his quote. Impressed to see that Fairbridge were the only 5* Velux approved installer in Bath area.Even more impressed with the speed with which replacement Velux window and good quality UpVC door were sourced and were installed. Great job of tidying up and all work done well within a day. Highly receommended

I contacted this company by telephone after reading a review in Which Local, following a leak around the base of a chimney in a bungalow, and they contacted me to arrange an estimate within 2 days and even apologised for being slow in returning my call. This was in marked contrast to other firms I contacted, some of whom never got back to me and others who failed to turn up even after promising to 3 or 4 times. He showed me what the problem was with the chimney and flashing, and other minor jobs that he advised could be done at the same time around the chimney, but at no point was there any pressure to have these carried out. He sent me the estimate that evening via email and arranged to do the work 1 month later. When he came to do the work he turned up on time, started work straight away, and had the job finished within half a day, only stopping for a couple of refreshment breaks which I provided for him and his colleague, and tidied up when they had finished. He was thoroughly professional and I would have no hesitation in using them again for any roofing problems I might have in the future.

The job was to replace an old skylight in a flat roof with a standard Vellux unit. It required the opening to be enlarged and the internal ceiling rose to be accommodated in the fitting. I had difficulty finding someone who could do this job without my being present in the property because most listed contractors were difficult to reach by telephone and did not answer emails. Steve Hardy of trader Ltd was a notable exception to this. He kept in full contact, especially by email, quoted promptly and liased successfully with the occupants to get the job done. His estimate was about mid-range for the job but he was happy to return on site and sort out some minor electrical issues which the installation had thrown up. This made the pricing good value. I recommend Steve Hardy and Fairbridge to anyone who values good communication, fair pricing and a no-quibble attitude to the annoying little add-ons which many jobs entail.

Using Which? Local I found Tim Draisey and used his services to remedy a serious roof problem. I found him to be honest and professional in his dealings and the work he carried out was first class and timely. I therefore have no hesitation in recommending him.

Matthew recently fitted an internal wooden door to my kitchen. His work was first rate; quick, accurate and reasonable priced. He even fixed a problem with my front door while he was here, at no extra cost. I would certainly recommend him and plan to use him again in the future.

Matthew has been very helpful in helping us to install a balustrade and hanging three interior doors. He is punctual and friendly, and work very hard and efficiently. Since my property is over 70 years old, door hanging is no simple task as door frames have distorted over the years. Matthew took all the trouble to make the doors tailored for the door frame at a reasonable cost, meanwhile giving us some good DIY advice and teaching us some carpenting skills! his company provides a range of other services as well. Highly recommended!

Andrew was asked to replace a flat roof and repair ceiling damage, where the water had entered.. He explained his own strengths were in tiled roofs and internal work, but submitted an estimate using specialists that he had confidence in. We are happy with the result. Everyone has worked to a high standard and have been easy to talk to. The Council confirmed that all the regulations had been followed . We shall certainly use him again.

trader were highly recommended to me by a friend who'd had an extension built by them. They gave me a very competitive quote for a two-storey extension and garage conversion, which was completed in March 2012. They also upgraded the existing house and did the landscaping work in the garden. All of the work was completed to a very high standard and the men were cheerful, helpful and respectful, which made the whole experience as stress-free as it could have been. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent work, reliable and competitive. I hired Paul after seeing the great standard of his work in restoring the facade of Georgian townhouse in Clifton. I then hired him to install new air bricks around my Victorian property (no mean feat with 9 foot deep walls in some places) and to restore an old brick wall to it's former glory. First class work, he brought a professional team with him and worked in the sleet and rain. Will be hiring him again for all further works.

Intelligent, business like, efficient, clean, come when they say they will. All their workmen are skilled Best of all, they never moan; problems are seen as challenges to be overcome, not an opportunity to moan and rack up the price. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
