We have used this contractor before and were very happy to use his services again to design and build a 4 cubic metre porch on the front of a bungalow. Dave talked us through our options, give his views and respected our choices in the planning stage before designing an quoting for a reasonable and value-for-money porch. Once a mutually convenient start date had been agreed, a 12% deposit was paid. Dave started work as agreed and continued until swift completion, just over 3 weeks later. He kept us updated with progress and explained any issues encountered along the way in a professional but friendly way. The end result was a porch completed to a very high standard and with great care for detail, for example the height and materials used for the new windows matched those currently on the property. He is a credit to his industry. We would be happy to recommend his services to anyone.

Toucan have completed many building jobs for us including laying new terrace, putting in a new door, repairing a large wall, building steps, repairing tiled external entrance. They handle quite large building jobs and many smaller domestic jobs quickly, efficiently at competitive rates. If you cant do it Toucan can!

We have recently used trader to build an extension on the rear of our property. Alan has worked on many houses in our local area and came highly recommended. I have bulleted pointed our feedback: Alan came to visit us in the evening to discuss our build and was happy to come back for further discussions outside of working hours. He provided a quote for the works, which was clear and included a break down of exactly what work was covered The work started on time and more or less kept to schedule Alan is very pro-active and efficient and project managed the build, he dealt with the local council and arranged all of the building inspections. The team handled any changes and issues smoothly - nothing was too much trouble for them. Alan has a number of guys working for him..they are all absolutely lovely, not only are they friendly and helpful they are all very skilled and can turn their hands to anything. At the end of each day they made every effort to clean the site and try to ensure that we had some sort of living space! Alan's team even assisted where other people working on our property were not quite up to scratch Alan was extremely organised, and co-ordinated most people involved from electricians to plasterers The finishing was of a high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend Alan and his team. Not only did they demolish and build, they also fitted our oak flooring and installed our kitchen. Alan has an excellent team who are a joy to have around. A big bonus for me is that I could speak with them at any time and they would go the extra mile to sort out any issues, they are all excellent communicators....they even carpeted my tunnel cat flap so tiny paws would be comfortable...not many builders would do that!!

Like previous postings, I decided to follow this Which? Local users recommendation and have the conservatory roof replaced on my let property. Following a thorough survey of the leaking roof, and liaising with my tenants to minimise disruption, this contractor gave me a detailed quote comfortably below others provided, but in addition he came to my home to explain the quote and offer different pricing options. Accepting a 15% deposit with final payment on satisfactory completion, the work was done to a high standard and with the praise of the tenants. The contractor offered a free insurance backed 10 year guarantee with the work. I agree with all previous comments and am very satisfied with all the service provided and would be happy to use his services again.

Follow up Review: They always go the extra mile and search out the best deals for their customers. I wanted a flat roof made of fibreglass and they found one and had it made to measure.

Jon Pengelly and his team recently converted a garage to a bedroom for us and enlarged/renovated our bathroom. The service has been outstanding. We were impressed from Jon's first visit by his quiet manner and 'can-do' attitude. His team started on time, all materials were delivered, and they were here every day until the job was completed. They were all unfailingly hard-working, efficient, pleasant and tidy. Jon called every day to monitor progress and answer any queries. The job has been done to an excellent standard and for a very reasonable price. We are delighted.

I contracted this trader to build a porch based on the recommendation in Which? Local. I can reiterate all the points made in the earlier recommendations: he is professional, punctual, reliable and his work and finish is excellent, he also helped us finalise the design. His pricing is good and transparent. He communicates well, starting each day by checking you are happy with the work and ending by reporting what time he will start the next day and what he plans to do. In addition he kept the site tidy and cleaned up when he left. We would not hesitate to use his services again.
