Armistead's carried out a garage conversion for me. A site visit was made and a detailed quotation followed shortly. The quotation was not the cheapest I had, but Armistead's were able to start the work sooner than anyone else. The team who did the work were friendly, skilled and hardworking. The work was completed within the time estimated before the start and everything was done to a high standard.

I employed Mr Maguire to strip, render and pebbledash the walls of an outhouse. He waited for the suitable weather conditions before doing the preparatory work, and similarly before finishing the job some three weeks later. He wastes no time in getting the job done, and has produced excellent results, at what I consider to be a good price. Prompt, friendly and extremely efficient. An altogether pleasant and trouble-free experience.

I used trader and Holme Building Services for a c 30k pounds multi faceted house renovation project. His quote was the most competitive, his ideas were the most realistic and his attention to detail in the bid was hugely impressive. Above all our instinct was that he was totally trustworthy and straightforward - we were absolutely spot on. His team and his sub contractors were all highly professional in every respect. Work started exactly when it was supposed to and the 6 week project was finished entirely to my satisfaction in 5 weeks. Snagging was a formality as there was so little to find fault with. He is backed up by super efficient office staff (Sarah) who knew exactly what was happening at any time. No funny invoices, no extra charges for items not discussed and agreed. At the end of the project all of the warranties, certificates and appliance instructions arrived in a folder - all signed off. We were hugely impressed with trader and his team - old school, a proper leader of his crew and quietly efficient in every respect. We have absolutely no hesitation in giving him top marks.

*Moderator Note - Recommendation not based on Building Work *After a great deal of investigation on the internet and through Which? etc, I had already shortlisted Mike Crowe Building and Construction as a firm that I would approach to quote for a multi-faceted domestic building project. However, before proceeding I used the Federation of Master Builders' "Find a Builder" internet search facility and within hours Mike Crowe had responded. He subsequently conducted a site visit (in person) and was full of fantastic advice about how to proceed. It was obvious to me that this FMB registered company is highly processional and on top of its game. Quick to quote. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

From the outset this company's attitude filled me with confidence and it was obvious that they were completely professional and efficient. trader himself conducted the site visit in order to prepare the quote and was full of good advice about how to proceed. The detailed quote was prepared within 36 hours of the site visit. I would definitely recommend this company for anybody in search of a quality building service.

They did a good job on our (and our neighbours) drive. Removing previous tarmac and concrete then levelling and preparing for tarmac. They delivered what we asked for, worked hard and kept to time.

Over the past 10 years I have used McKnight Builders for a number of projects whichincludes house extensions,conservatories and kitchen design. I have always found the work carried out as been of a very high standard and on all occasions the persons employed have been competent and above all courteous.

These lads are by far the best workmen I have ever dealt with. Always turned up when promised. Always tidied up after themselves and worked almost non stop all day. They fitted bathroom, including all tiling, plumbing and arranging Electrician. Any problems they had were explained and solutions found.
