Builders near Edmondbyers, Durham

We have used Paul Irwin for a number of projects, both large and small e.g. hanging doors and patch plastering to major kitchen and bathroom renovations. We had a bad experience with another local builder and were wary when it came to our bigger projects but found Paul through Which? Local, with great results. Paul is a easy to communicate with and reliable, his work is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. We will certainly continue to use him in the future.

Having found him on Which local I also got Martin Boertien to fit some windows with UPVC double glazing. Likewise I ws very pleased with the quality of the materials and the work done. I will use him again.

I have used Andy's services on several occasions and have always found his service excellent and his charges reasonable. He recently helped me out when a boiler failed; he came within an hour (at 6pm!) obtained a new part and had the boiler up and running in 2 days.

We had our garden landscaped and it is very impressive. I have never seen 3 working lads work so hard and do such a good job as the 3 lads we had as well as their boss Colin.

Gary`s prices are fair. He gives a price and sticks to it, during the course of the contract he often does extra work, i.e. helps to put up shelves and curtains, and does not increase his charge.

WJ has now completed three garage conversions and one sun room within 50 metres of my address and all four home-owners rate this builder as excellent. Billy came to discuss my garage conversion and gave his best advice, sent a detailed written estimate, made a pre start visit and kept a daily eye on the job while it was in progress. Finally Billy came to do a final check on completion. He also liaised with the building control inspector from the Local Authority. The price was very comparable to other quotations. Highly recommended. Can't wait to start using my additional room.

Paul and Trudy Coulson have done lots of work for us. New roof, garage conversion (a speciality of theirs) other alterations inside and decorating. They are both honest, reliable and really care about doing a good job - very refreshing. For trades such as plumbing and electricital work they have links with good tradesmen with whom they work well. Highly recommended.

Trimmed three large leylandii hedges and removed all the cuttings using a shredding machine. Frank and Luke are very professional and I will be using them next year. I used this company as they were recommended on Which Local.

Removed two large trees (conifer and pine) for a lower cost than I was quoted by others. Luke arrived on time to give a quotation and he and Frank arrived promptly to do the work which they did quickly and efficiently. They also cleaned up when they had finished - I will be using them again to remove another problematic tree.

I employed Lampart Construction to remodel the upstairs of my 1920’s house so that I had a second bathroom, and to redecorate the bedrooms and do minor external repairs. I was very pleased with their work. They had most trades (except electricians) within the company. Their workmen were multi-skilled, hard-working and produced work of a high standard; they were also well-mannered and considerate. The project manager was superb: he called every day to supervise the work and to discuss with me exactly what I wanted and to resolve any problems. He was knowledgeable, courteous, gave good advice, worked co-operatively with the surveyor supervising the project, and ensured the right workers and materials were on site at every stage. His boss also called several times to take a close look at the work. I found everyone in the company very client-centred. All their prices were fair, even for extras that were not on the original schedule of works. Overall, these builders were very much better than any other builders I have ever employed. They weren’t perfect (is any builder?), but they were very willing to rectify any faults. Their one weak link was their electrical sub-contractor. I would recommend Lampart Construction for quality work, a smooth operation and value for money. I would definitely re-employ them.
