Brian responded on the same day that I requested help for a leaking shower - water dripping from light fitting below! He came and checked it out, was able to do a simple check if it was the seal or worse (I was imagining a leak under the floor requiring extensive work) He returned the next day to replace the seal. I was pleased with his straightforward problem solving, saving me a drama, and with his ability to fit the work in so promptly. Weekend visitors could keep clean, hurrah! I will certainly use him again .... Hope it will be planned not emergency nExt time.

I fully endorse the positive comments that have been received. We had our shower room completely refitted. We were impressed by the quality of the advice given and particularly the home visit. While the costs involved were not the lowest, they were reasonable. We were also very impressed by the professionalism and good attitude of all the fitters who took meticulous care over everything.

Jez turned up an hour late & proceeded to charge me £40 for less than 20 minutes work changing a washer in a tap and lubricating a bit inside it so it wouldn't be difficult to turn on & off. Reasonable?? I think not! This is Birmingham not London!

We have used DPS plumbing (Jez Snee) several times eg to plumb in a washing machine. The last occasion was today - 03/07/14. We phoned Jez this morning about a leaky toilet ball valve and he said he would come round this afternoon and he arrived promptly at 15.30. His work is professional and tidy and his charges very reasonable. We would not hesitate to use him again and recommend him. He does NOT do gas repairs.

Neil came to us by recommendation from a number of friends . He has fitted a downstairs cloakroom including tiling and refurbished our kitchen. He arrived when he said he would and his work is top class and his prices very competitive. I have no hesitation in recommending him .

I have selected trader based on the very positive reviews, and I can confirm they work to high quality standards and are very reliable. Prior to prepare the first quote, Graham visited the property to have a direct look at the main bathroom. We opted for a full re-fitting, and he has been very professional in suggesting there was the opportunity to save and reuse the bath tube. We have been satisfied with the design and the fitter and electrician have been both very professional, meticulous and polite.

Excellent! visited my elderly mother within an hour of reporting a leak, sorted straight away and cost was extremely reasonable. Would recommend to anyone, so reassuring to find a honest genuine person.

Repaired outdoor leaking tap at a very reasonable cost. Does other work including fitted kitchens, bathrooms, plastering, and various handyman jobs. I will certainly use his services in the future.

Left my number on answering service and he rang me back from on holiday. As work wasn't urgent John gave a reasonable quote when he returned to Midlands. Work on installing a new lavatory downstairs and a new syphon in the upstairs loo started when agreed and was completed in a few hours. All rubbish removed. John was very careful and pleasant throughout. A nice bloke who's work was A1 and his price was reasonable.

Our kitchen cabinets were probably about 30 years old and hinges and drawer runners were becoming unusable. We also wanted more storage space and a better quality work surface. My wife did quite a lot of leg-work and internet browsing, investigating IKEA, B&Q, Homebase, and John Lewis (which we visted in Solihull). Which? reviews and other reviews made us nervous about most of these, apart from John Lewis, but we were not happy with the difficulty of getting precise specifications and costs from John Lewis, and reviews had suggested they might be expensive. So I came to Which? Local, checked out Kitchen showrooms & fitters and Wayne Kelly stood out as outstanding, so we decided to try him. He returned our call very promptly, came to look at the kitchen and spent some time giving us quite detailed advice, including pointing out things that needed to be done that we had not noticed -- e.g. the state of the ceiling, which had previously suffered from leaks in the bathroom above. So we asked him to provide us with estimates for the proposed work. He recommended a kitchen fitting, claiming that we would need to pay only what they charge him, and recommended worktop supplier, for the worktop as we wanted granite or quartz. We were very impressed by his advice and after receiving his estimate + the kitchen fitters', for everything except the worktop, we decided not to bother with another estimate, on the strength of all the Which? Local recommendations. Wayne handled the order from the kitchen fitter, since he installed all the equipment they supplied, but left us to deal with the worktop company, selecting the material we wanted and arranging times for them to do templating after the new cabinets had been installed. We kept our old oven, microwave and sink, and decided to replace our old ceramic hob with a new induction hob, on which Wayne said he did not have enough knowledge to give us a strong recommendation, but we relied instead on our own research . It was a big job, and the whole process took about a month, during which we had no sink operating in our kitchen so had to camp in the adjoining utility room, using a two-plate portable hob. About two weeks of that month we were simply waiting for the quartzite worktops, using planks as temporary surfaces on the cabinets Wayne and his colleagues had installed. After the worktops arrived Wayne and his electrician quickly finished everything off and we were very happy with the end result. We felt Wayne was completely trustworthy and very considerate and obliging during that rather stressful time and will probably use him again, e.g. possibly for improving our loft insulation, which we have discussed with him. There were some nasty surprises during the process. The first was that the quotation we had accepted from the kitchen fitter it had turned out not to include the extra tall wall cupboards that we had clearly specified and Wayne had clearly requested from them. Because of the dreadful labelling used in the quotation, which did not allow us to check the details, we did not detect the fault ourselves. It was only because we asked them to check that they discovered their mistake, and had to increase the estimate by a significant amount. Removing the old cabinets revealed seriously deficient ancient wiring and we had no hesitation in accepting an estimate for additional work required to tidy things up and feel we now have a much safer system. They re-installed the old flourescent lamps under the cabinets which previously had to be turned on and off individually, but wired them through a single switch, which can now be used to turn all the concealed lighting on and off. The electrician Wayne used charged us separately for his extra work, including doing a complete check of our wiring, which was overdue: DK Electrics Ltd (David Kirtley). We are very happy with him and I'll fill in a separate report recommending him. We do not know whether we could have achieved the same result using another fitter/builder, but are very pleased to have found people whom we are sure we can trust and who clearly have a high level of expertise. For anyone considering switching to an induction hob I can say that we are absolutely delighted with the improvement over our old ceramic hob: the new one works much faster, is much more controllable, and seems to be much safer. I suspect it will reduce our electricity bills, though I don't know by how much. The only disadvantage is that most old cookware (saucepans, frying pans, wok, griddle) are no longer usable. But so far we are managing with the four items that came with the Bosch hob plus a (very heavy) cast iron Denby griddle pan bought from Currys. We may later need a pressure cooker and perhaps a larger frying pan than the one that came with the hob.) Time taken: Contacted Wayne via phone message around 8th Feb. He called a few days later gave advice and left catalogues. We gave him our requirements and a few days later had his and his suppliers estimates (the latter with an error fixed later). He started work on Monday 24th Feb. Because the worktop company had said they might be ready for templating on Monday 3rd March Wayne actually worked all day Saturday and Sunday to get the cabinets ready, though as it turned out theycould not come until Wed 5th. By the end of that day we had our old oven and microwave back in place in the new tower cabinet and connected, and all lights and sockets were working. But there was no worktop and the old sink and new hob could not be installed. So we had to wait till they could deliver the worktops and upstands, which happened on 25th and 26th March after which Wayne and David finished everything off.

Problems with leaking outside pipework after the harsh winter. John came at a time convenient to us, diagnosed the problem immediately and returned with for the repair with no fuss or bother. Replaced old piping with much more secure work. Very pleased with the whole service. Highly recommended.

Wayne replaced hinges to our integrated Neff fridge. He responded quickly to our request, sought the correct hinges and completed the work in a short time. We will certainly utilise his services again.
