Richard drew up the plans for a ground floor kitchen/diner extension. He also managed the whole project and liaised regularly with the builders. He listened carefully to our needs, made suggestions but never forced his opinions on us. His attention to detail was second to none, especially regarding accounts. We thought his fees were very reasonable. The builder he recommended was equally meticulous. The approach by both has resulted in an extension we are delighted with.

We chose John Lamb as our architect primarily because he is a local business to us. We used his services for the design, planning submission, tendering and supervision of a large wheelchair accessible extension. John recommended builders to tender the contract for, he provided contract documents and made regular visits to oversee the work. A very professional whilst personal service, he responded quickly to any concerns we raised as the building work progressed. We now have a fabulous extension which is everything we could have hoped for.

Michele helped with a significant adaptation and extension to an awkward 1970s house in order to accommodate two households. He was extremely helpful in enabling us to identify our key requirements; listening without imposing preconceived ideas. His design was original and creative and his plans and communications clear. He was extremely helpful in taking the burden of dealings with building control and structural engineers. We would have no hesitation in recommending his services.

We have recently had a carport turned into a Utility room and walk-in shower. Francesco designed and drew up the plans, obtained permissions, tendered the work, and supervised the project. Francesco was a pleasure to work with and extremely efficient, and we are delighted by the result

Glenn Ombler advised us and designed a kitchen extension for us, built in early 2013. We had a very good discussion with him about options, and he produced a well detailed specification for our choice. We used this specification for builders to quote against. Glenn also helped us with the planning application, structural engineer and building inspection requirements. We were very pleased with his customer friendly attitude and service and are delighted with our new kitchen!

We found David via Which Local and all the previous positive reviews were spot on. As our architect for a ground floor rear extension, his work was outstanding and he always took the time to answer any questions we had as well as provide useful guidance and suggestions along the way. We never felt 'pressured' in any way and in fact went on to use his recommended Builder who was also brilliant. Highly recommended!

We asked Paul to help us with the renovation of an ex-Council police house semi with the brief to turn our dilapidated “sow’s ear” into a “silk purse” by adding extensions to the property and completely renovating the existing to make an energy efficient home. He produced ideas and drawings that really impressed us. Paul has seen the project through from its conception to the end. Briefly including: design, production of detailed drawings, applying for planning and building regulation approval, invitation to tender, tender analysis, drawing up the building contract, appointing our chosen builder monitoring the work, liaising with the builder through each and every stage, and much more! As well as Paul having extensive and detailed knowledge of buildings, building regulations and planning requirements, we consider him to be a magnificent architect in his designs. Having met with us a few times to ascertain what it was we wanted from the new home, he produced a design that almost took our breath away! We decided there and then to go with the external look he proposed, without him having to ‘tweak’ it in any way. He then spent many hours helping us to get the internal layout and proportions just right, before submission to planning. We cannot praise him enough. His work and work rate on our behalf has always been totally professional and extensive. He has gone the extra mile for us many, many times and our questions (we’ve had hundreds!) are always speedily answered. We would recommend to any potential client that they don’t just appoint Paul up to planning stage but for the whole project. We have, and Paul has guided us through many difficult and potentially problematic stages of the whole project, undoubtedly preserving our sanity in the process. His work can be summed up in one word; outstanding.

I was advised by Jamie from Jayodc (Building service whom I have also recommended on Which? Local) that it would be wise to enlist the services of an architect To assist with our refurbishment project. Jamie recommended trader who are smart, organised, punctual, reliable, honest and listened attentively to our requirements. Within a couple of days the architect had sent us a proposition for him to manage and oversee the entire project at a very reasonable fee, to include submission of application to the management company, supervision of the entire project including administration of a contract agreement between us and the builder. He did the survey, completed detailed submission of the plans, provided several options for the layout and features which were discussed with us and he meticulously supervised each stage of the refurbishment, clearly minuting every meeting held with us and the builders. He had his eye on the ball for prices too and found us some real bargains. It is difficult to separate the architect and the builders working together but the whole project flowed seamlessly and we are delighted with the outcome. We are really grateful that Jamie suggested the architect to draw up the plans. We would unreservedly recommend both trader and Jaydoc if you are considering having any major works done on your home. We have recommended both trader and Jamie to friends also.

Andrew Henderson guided us through the intricacies of obtaining building warrants for an extension to a stone cottage in Merchiston, Edinburgh. He also assisted with the management of the building process. He was excellent at understanding our requirements and responded quickly to issues arising in the building process. He is a nice man and very easy to work with. We can strongly recommend him.

Francesco was recommended to us by a friend. We had just bought a flat in a Victorian building that required refurbishing and modernising. We wanted to combine the original features and our period furniture with a more comtemporary feel. Francesco created for us a perfect mix of old and new, helping us decide on an excellent choice of colours, materials and lighting. We are still pleased with the results 7 years later. Francesco's advice was always helpful and thoughtful and creative, giving us different options. He was professional and collaborative, and was always generous with his time. He is respectful of his clients' views but that will not prevent him explaining patiently how other options will give a better result. We are glad we listened to him. With Francesco you immediately have the sense that he knows exactly what he is doing and that you can trust him. We are glad to say that now that we have just bought another flat, abroad this time, we have been able to go back to him for yet more help and advice. We have no hesitation in strongly reccommending him.

We had a loft space in a four-storey victorian terrace which needed to be renovated and converted into one large living space, in order to maximise storage. Francesco guided through the process, meeting with us on three occassions to talk through ideas and choice of materials. He very quickly created a solution which was not only maximised the space, but created a modern, contemporary living space, which is very distinctive. He helped us source lighting, flooring, and gave us advice on how to save costs on materials when it came to construction. He was always great to deal with and available to come on site if needed - thankfully there we no problems. What Francesco brings to a project, is professionalism, an attention to detail and a passion for what he does. We had previously been to lots of loft companies, but none matched his creative flair and real interest in the project. With his drawings and advice we were able to instruct our own builder, who had very detailed drawings from to work from I would definitely use him again and am very satisfied with the final result.

I have engaged the services of Francesco Pierazzi in designing my flat when I decided to have some work done. I have a relatively small awkwardly-shapped (arent they all?!) victorian conversion which required that things had to be throughly thought-through when doing the work to maximise the use of the space without sacrifycing aesthetics. I have seen a few places that Francesco has worked on before and thought he is the right guy for the job. Francesco works in a very modern / contemporary style and that was exactly what I was looking for. Having said that Francesco's take on contemporary design is not one of those you see in every other modern flat in London - he has incredibly interesting design ideas which are also aesthetically great and make your place look one of a kind. He's taken my brief & some ideas and turned into something that went over and above my expectations. Francesco also has a great eye for detail and making the most use of the space available - again he delivered more storage space for me than I thought I could have. He's good with estimating and gave me the idea of how far my budget can stretch and we overspent only ever so slightly @ the end. He also helped me to select the building contractor and was regularly @ the site with me managing the progress. On top of all of that, Francesco is a very pleasant person to deal with and I can't recommend him highly enough.
